…waiting for rainshowers…

Been in the hospital  for several times since Monday last week,  for medical check up  and IVs  and as usual I got this thoughts that keep on surfacing in my head.

I would not want to work in a  place with so many Pinoy employees. Kasi nakakalungkot, mga pinoy nag-iingitan, nag-iiringan, at nagpapatalbugan.  Bakit kaya ganun,is it a universal phenomenon na kapag too many people from the same place work in a company they wont be getting along well?  There would always be a conflict or  chismis about somebody, or somebody will always envy another’s privileges.

Should not it be the other way, helping and being there for each other in times of need? Maybe there are too many pinoys here in abu dhabi so we have taken for granted the joy of finding a kababayan in the workplace. We have hardened our hearts for the sake of survival… competition may be the name of the game but it is a double -sided monster which eats us up unaware .

We are always eager for blood to be spilt but are careful lest it’s our blood na. We want other’s  shortcomings to be exposed pero pag mali na natin takot tayo na baka tayo naman ang pag-initan.  Yung sa mga pinay sa reception nung hospital, usap sila ng usap  na wala daw arabic sa reception yet they were not calling for someone to come. Yung arabong pasyente is siempre makulit, they simply told him na they could not understand arabic but not nicely. What could be more exasperating di ba kundi ang meron ka na nga sakit tapos the people that are supposed to care for you won’ even want to understand you. I compared the attitude of the  guy receptionist who is mid-eastern, he looked to be around late thirtyish and he was very nice even not to  non- arabic patients. He always had a ready smile and he accomodates  ladies first and more so of those patients who needs immediate admission.

another thing which saddened me is  that our reputation  as  world class workers has been claimed yet unproven by most.

dun sa pinagpacheck-upan ko na doctor I was advised to take three tablets a day of antibiotic every eight hours plus antihistamine twice a day. The doctor has been talking to me  yet the medical assistant was not, so when she ( med asst) keyed in the computer the dosage for the antibiotic,  she put only one  tablet a day! I found out only it was an error when I saw the prescription copy and double-checked with the doctor by phone. Gosh!  Di ba what if its a critical sitiuation and she gets it wrong, all because of loose work ethics.

maybe these people are just burdened and they have a hard time seeing the lighter side of things. marami siguro sila problema just like us.  but they are not blessed with things like a good night sleep,  maybe they have a difficult time with their housemates, or they have problems back home. we do not know what are in their hearts. they too are entitled with the benefit of our doubts.

at the end of all this griping is that I am glad that there are still kababayans who are compassionate, kind hearted and true to their service. and i know a lot of them. hehe.i’m very blessed  because of that. smiles.
